Qualifications

Haling from a family of rabbis and women psychics going back four generations, Rissa was born with gifts she didn't understand. She recalls standing in line at kindergarten when she was only five and picking up all these awful things about the children, seeing personal details of their lives and the lives of their families. Some of it was startling and did not exactly make her the most popular kid in the class. Although she knew she possessed a special gift that came from four generations of psychics before her, she didn't hone her abilities until her mid-thirties. Her family never taught her how to control her talents, so she had no choice but to teach herself. She soon found her abilities were getting out of control and she didn't know how to harness them. Someone had once told her, the higher you go, the less room there is for mistakes, so she dedicated herself to becoming an expert with Tarot, psychic work, intuitive Claircognizance and Clairscience. She mastered the clairvoyance and clairaudience skills she was born with while becoming the ethical and high leveled metaphysician that she is today.

Rissa began her training by taking a Tarot class. Although she already had Master abilities, the teacher was not the type, unfortunately, to bring them out in her students. She was good with the technical meaning of the cards, but that was as far as her teaching skills went. She never taught the class anything about channeling or connecting with their higher selves. Fortunately, there was an older female student who befriended Rissa and became her mentor. She had been in a coma for almost a year due to a car wreck and returned to the land of the living with psychic abilities that were off the scale. Rissa attended the Tarot class to add another dimension to her work. Because the teacher didn't channel with Tarot, she never seemed to push Rissa to that higher level of mastery she needed. One day, this angel of a woman (the older woman in the class) said to Rissa: "You have the ability!...You might as well use it. Forget the meanings of the cards that you've learned and start combining your natural abilities with the channeling."

Apparently that's all it took, because from that moment, Rissa's natural channeling abilities were released. From then on, whenever she looked at a card, say the five of swords, for instance, her abilities kicked into high gear and she received tons of information, way beyond what she was taught in class. It just flowed! She soon became a Master Channeler and continues to use this ability in her work today. While she confesses she could read paper napkins, or matchsticks if she had to, she prefers to warmup with a Tarot spread to help her tune-in to the client and then channels using all of her "Clair" abilities.

Experience

Rissa became a professional reader in 1983 and has worked in the media since the 2000's. Remarkably, they found her--she didn't go to them! Unlike many readers who gravitate to the spotlight, Rissa prefers to stay under the radar. To date, she has provided more than 5,000 personal readings and has appeared on Good Morning America, FOX NEWS, CBS, NBC, The Howard Stern Show, and has read for cast members of The Housewife Series on Bravo, to name but a few. She doesn't discuss most of the high profile readings she's given, but she can divulge that she has read backstage at concerts in the VIP areas for: Sting, Pink, and other artists, and more recently at The Ian Somerhalder (star of The Vampire Diaries) Foundation. Personal

A very psychic Gemini with Leo rising, Rissa is a former competitive ice skater who trained at famous skating camps throughout the country, sharing ice time with Olympic Gold Medallists such as Scott Hamilton, Janet Lynn and Gordie McKellan, to name a few. Her father was a well-known musician before his death in 2009, having performed at many high profile events throughout town, including The Governors Mansion while Jimmy Carter was in office. Rosalyn enjoyed her father so much they asked him to play at Jimmy Carter's Georgia Inaugural Ball after he won the presidency. At one of the several gigs he played at the Governor's mansion, her mother looked at Rosalyn Carter and all of a sudden observed this gold halo around her and was knocked into a slight trance. After all, Rissa does hale from four generations of psychics. This incident occurred before Carter even announced his interest in the presidency. While in this slight trance, all of a sudden these words came hurtling out toward Rosalyn: "Today the Governor's Mansion. Tomorrow The White House! Rissa's father shot her mom a look as if to say: "What the Hell are you talking about?" However, Rosalyn just giggled and seemed to graciously accept the strange prediction.

Rissa is an avid exerciser who likes yoga, weight training, running, and meditating. She is a raw vegan, who finds that paying attention to her diet helps her to channel. Eating a lot of cooked foods interfere with that process. She is a past-life regression therapist, certified in Psych-K. She donates much of her time and money to a lot of animal rights and animal foster groups and is also a mother to two spoiled fur children, including a Chihuahua mix and a Shitz-zu mix. Rissa's brother is a pilot and she is the proud aunt to twin nephews.
